The Threatened Species Recovery Hub’s six-year research program was completed in 2021. For more information see our about page.
How are Australia's threatened birds faring? Until recently that was a questions we couldn't answer. While there was monitoring data on individual species, there was no way of bringing all of this information together to tell us about the bigger picture. Australia's new Threatened Species Index will fill that gap.
The Index was created by the Threatened Species Recovery Hub in partnership with the University of Queensland, Birdlife Australia, Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments and over 30 other research and conservation organisations. It received funding from the Australian Government's National Environmental Science Program.
