Talking night parrots on Paruku Country

The population of night parrots found by the Paruku Rangers in the Great Sandy Desert are only the third known population in Australia, but other Indigenous land managers in the region may also have the rare bird on their country. To share knowledge about the bird and how to detect, monitor and care for it, Paruku Indigenous Rangers and elders hosted a workshop for other rangers and conservation groups from the southern Kimberley and northern Western Deserts in October 2018.
