Chris Pavey is a Senior Scientist at CSIRO and has been involved in threatened species conservation for over 25 years, most of it spent in arid Australia. His TSR research is focusing on identifying and managing refuges from threats. Chris' research interests include species responses to dynamic environments, predator-prey interactions, and movement ecology.

Chris has a strong background in on-ground natural resource management with a particular focus on off-reserve conservation. He was Director of Threatened Species for the Northern Territory government, chaired the Mala (Rufous Hare-Wallaby) recovery team for 10 years and has co-authored 6 nationally adopted recovery plans covering 14 species of animals and plants.
