This report aims to carry out collaborative research that works toward creating an understanding of how Indigenous Australians contribute to and are included in projects that involve research, management, and monitoring of significant species, using threatened species as an initial focus. We use the term significant species to acknowledge that the way in which these plants, animals and ecosystems are identified, classified and attributed significance varies among Indigenous and non-Indigenous experts and conservation practitioners.
