Dr Mat Hardy

Mat is a postdoctoral research fellow based at The University of Melbourne, working with the hub leaders of the National Environmental Science Program and project partners to develop a framework for Integrated Environmental Assessment in Australia.

Mat completed his PhD at RMIT University in 2017, his thesis focusing on decision-making in private land conservation. Mat's research interests focus on bridging the gap between applied research and practical implementation, with a particular emphasis on conserving nature on private land, drawing from skills and experience gained through previous positions at Trust for Nature (Victoria), the Australian Land Conservation Alliance, and Greening Australia.
