R.O. (Bob) Makinson

Bob Makinson is a conservation botanist and plant taxonomist, and is currently vice-president of the Australian Network for Plant Conservation Inc. He was Curator of the Australian National Herbarium in Canberra (1992--2001), and Conservation Botanist at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney (2001--2016).

He has long been closely involved with species recovery programs, and the assessment and listing of threatened species and threatening processes. Bob was a co-author of the previous (2nd) edition of the ANPC's Guidelines for the Translocation of Threatened Plants in Australia.
