Emily Clow is passionate about conservation and environmental management. She completed a Bachelor of Environmental Science at Monash University majoring in Ecology and Conservation Biology.  Her honours project is contributing to a TSR Hub project which will improve monitoring and conservation of Australia's Alpine peatlands.

Emily's project aims to create a condition classification scheme that managers can use to investigate peatland condition in the Victorian Alps. Key attributes, as determined by experts and managers, will be combined with field data collected between 2012 -2014 to analyse which attributes are important when investigating peatland condition. The completed model will then be validated in the field to see how it matches previous expert assessments of those peatlands. This can help land managers understand the condition of a peatland and thus determine the most effective management intervention to help preserve these threatened ecosystems.
